The morality of the masses? Investigating ethics An fe3 mindstretch®

12 July 2012, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
Given the mass of corporate scandals over the past ten years, it's perhaps not surprising that organisations have rushed to clean up their acts after wrong doing. Thankfully, ethical behaviour has some business benefits, despite the fact that ethics has no standard definition in terms of practice, or indeed, agreed theory. This mindstretch® will look at some of the Western approaches to ethics and ask – what's ethical but not lawful? And what's lawful but not ethical? And how sustainable are ethical practices when resources are scarce and cash is in short supply. Finally, we'll investigate whether academics have been able to make a direct link between ethical behaviour and profit.
