°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Bourke Award Lecture - Prof. Ratner: Electron Transport and Pulling Molecules

13 December 2011, Coventry, United Kingdom

Introduction
Scanning probe microscopy enables both the measurement of molecular transport through single molecules and the extension of such molecules by pulling in an AFM. We will present theoretical analysis both of these topics, separately and together. The thermodynamic analogy to a pulling transition will be discussed, as will the effects of pulling on the actual molecular conductance.
