Preparing pharmacy for the challenges of workplace-based learning

Introduction
Significant changes are planned to the way pharmacy undergraduate students and post-registration pharmacists are to be educated. This is to achieve better integration of their knowledge and skills through increased patient exposure via clinical placements and experiential learning. This conference will explore the various ingredients required to support workplace based learning, and delegates can expect to:

• Explore the dimensions of workplace-based learning (WBL)from an academic and professional perspective

• Understand how partnership working can contribute to new models of WBL education

• Explore the characteristics of a sustainable educational infrastructure required to deliver WBL

• Describe methods of assessing WBL and their application for learner development
