Nanocellulose Superior material designed by nature

Introduction
Prof. Laine has been working in the field of surface and colloid (nano) chemistry of cellulose-based materials for about 15 years. He graduated from Helsinki University of Technology 1991 (MSc.) and finalized his PhD-work 1996. Then he worked five years at the Swedish Pulp and Paper Research Institute (STFI) as a principal scientist in the paper chemistry group. In 2001 prof. Laine returned to the Laboratory of Forest Products Chemistry at the Helsinki University of Technology. He was appointed as professor 2003. Prof. Laine interest is focused on characterization of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) and creating new potential nanocellulosic materials.
