°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼-ACS Joint Symposia at SCIX 2012

2 October 2012, Kansas City, United States

Introduction
The first joint °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼-ACS Symposia took place during the SCIX 2012 conference, which took place in Kansas City, MO, USA.

The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼-ACS Symposia consisted of two sessions dedicated to the Current Status of the Analytical Sciences: Focus on Human Health. SCIX 2012 is the annual conference of the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS).

The first symposium focused on bioanalytical and clinical developments, while the second highlighted atomic spectrometry developments in this area. These are both key strengths of the SCIX conference. The theme of Human Health is one of the key areas identified in the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ roadmap, 'Chemistry for Tomorrow's World,' and the ACS 'Global Challenges Chemistry Solutions' strategic plan.

Networking and community interactions are always very strong at FACSS meetings, and SCIX 2012 will be no different. The purpose of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼-ACS Symposia is for the two societies to highlight the leading edge analytical science in the field of human health, to bring scientists together and to foster collaborations between the researchers involved in the meeting.

The symposium will appeal to academic and industrial scientists with an interest in the use of analytical science to tackle the global challenges in human health. Attendance at the symposium is available as part of registration for SCIX 2012. Please contact May Copsey for more information.
