Traditional herbal medicines: opportunities and challenges in a changing regulatory environment

Introduction
To update delegates on the scientific and applied progress in the area of herbal medicines - products that are widely used but under increasing regulatory scrutiny.

To discuss research and development needs for herbal medical products under the framework of the changing regulatory environment, in particular, the implications of recent changes to the British regulations for herbal medical products for industry and pharmaceutical research.

To bring together regulators, industry and consumer representatives to discuss the current situation surrounding the registration of herbal products medicines.

To provide delegates with an understanding of the perspectives of regulators and industry and also discuss the views and needs of all stakeholders.

This conference follows the first conference held at the Centre for Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy of the London School of Pharmacy in 2007 (delegates who did not attend the first conference will still find this event useful).
