Satellite Remote Sensing of the Troposphere

19 February 2013, Staffordshire, United Kingdom

Introduction
Throughout the world, the deteriorating air quality and the changing climate are due to the increasing burden of atmospheric pollutants in the lower atmosphere. These trace gases can now be measured with satellite instruments, and such observations herald a new era for atmospheric chemistry and for monitoring.
The illustrated talk will outline the satellite techniques, present some results to illustrate regional air pollution and longer term atmospheric change.
