BIAPWS Power Plant Chemistry Symposium 2025

2 July 2025 12:00 - 3 July 2025 17:00, Coventry, United Kingdom

Introduction
We are pleased to announce that the dates for the next BIAPWS symposium have been confirmed and we would be delighted if you joined us for our annual symposium on power plant chemistry.

Wednesday  2 July 2025. Afternoon
Thursday 3 July 2025. All day

Themes for each session are being developed based on feedback from the 2024 symposium and current developments in power plant chemistry. A common theme in the feedback was a focus on sustainability and any papers on sustainability of chemistry operations (e.g. alternatives to hydrazine) would be appreciated. Should you have any thoughts, please do not hesitate to contact us.

A full programme and information for registration will be issued early 2025.

Organised by
The British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (BIAPWS) is a non-profit organisation that focuses on the thermophysical and chemical properties of water and steam, particularly for industrial applications in water chemistry and treatment in the energy sector and related industries.

As the only independent representative body and forum for Power Plant Chemistry in the UK and Ireland, we bring together electricity generators (fossil, biomass, nuclear and EfW), steam generators and users, and providers of water treatment, analytical equipment and chemistry services.

BIAPWS are a national subcommittee of the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS) and promote and advance knowledge, research and best practice in cycle chemistry, water treatment, environmental management and health & safety.

We take an active role in establishing and improving internationally respected guidance in these fields, and are represented on international standardisation committees including the British Standards Institute and Euro Norm working groups.

We serve as a forum for information and knowledge exchange between our members with a view to improve cycle chemistry, water treatment and environmental management.

We promote best practice in our field through membership meetings, online webinars and an annual BIAWPS Symposium.
