ChemCareers 2022: Job searching and disability: disclosure and reasonable adjustments

Introduction
This is the first part of a series of webinars providing support for disabled people who are job seeking. This webinar will focus on disclosure and reasonable adjustments. 

NB: Disability is a broad umbrella, covering any form of physical and/or mental difference that has a significant impact on a person’s daily life. This includes a wide spectrum of experiences including mental health conditions, chronic illnesses and other long-term health conditions, neurodivergence, sensory impairments, mobility impairments, and learning disability.

The series’ objectives: 
  • To provide practical advice, information and tips to support a disabled person who is job seeking, or those who are supporting disabled people who are job seeking. 
  • To highlight resources and organisations who can support job seekers with information, personalised support and resources etc (including the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ and Chemists’ Community Fund).  
  • To highlight resources and support available to disabled people and employers to support employee/job retention. 
  • To use the social model of disability to frame job searching etc.
