The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted core fundamentals of the global society. The significance of science, research and health come to forefront as never before in the history of mankind. Not surprisingly, society is looking towards science to rescue itself from this unprecedented crisis. Disruption can bring seismic changes in science to create paradigm-altering solutions. So the current scenario is presenting itself with challenges as well as opportunities for developing scientific innovations, new ways of doing research, open science and importance of digitalisation.
