A one-day symposium at which PhD students and PDRAs from across Scotland and the North of England can meet with their peers and present the results of their research in any field related to fundamental and applied electrochemistry. Both oral and poster presentation slots will be available, but oral presentations are aimed at PhD students who might otherwise not get the opportunity to speak during their PhD studies. There will be an opening plenary lecture by Prof Kevin SIvula, Head of the Laboratory for Molecular Engineering of Optoelectronic Nanomaterials (LIMNO) at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and a closing plenary lecture by Dr Eileen Yu, Head of the Bioelectrochemical Systems and Engineering Research Group at Newcastle University.
The symposium is free to attend for all, thanks to the generosity of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Electrochemistry Interest Group, the Scottish °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ local sections and our industrial sponsors (IJ Cambria Scientific, Alvatek and Metrohm). Lunch will be provided, also free of charge. To submit an oral or poster abstract, please complete the attached template and email this as a single-page word document to Dr. Ignacio Tudela-Montes (ignacio.tudela@ed.ac.uk) by the dates indicated, specifying which type of presentation is preferred.
Oral presentations will have a 20-minute slot, with presentations lasting no more than 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes of potential questions by the audience. Poster presentations must be in portrait A1 format. The best oral presentation in each them (Electrochemistry and Bioelectrochemistry) will be awarded with free registration for the Electrochem 2019 conference sponsored by the Electrochemistry Group of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ (travel & accommodation not included). The best 2 poster presentations will win a £50 gift card each sponsored by IJ Cambria Scientific Ltd.
The deadline for submission of oral abstracts is the 15th February 2019 (now extended to the 22nd of February), and the deadline for submission of poster abstracts is the 1st of March 2019 (now extended to the 15th of March). Please also register online through the "Book Now" link on this page by the 22nd March 2019 so that we can cater accordingly.
