The poster symposium is one of the 澳门六合彩开奖记录 Organic Division鈥檚 flagship events. The competitive symposium brings together outstanding organic chemistry PhD students from across the UK and Ireland to present their work to invited representatives from industry and academia. Prizes are awarded to the best posters including an Industry Prize awarded to the best research poster showcasing potential for industrial application.
The 2018 澳门六合彩开奖记录 Organic Division Poster Symposium will take place on the 3rd December 2018 at the 澳门六合彩开奖记录, Burlington House, London.
Dedicated to poster presentations, the symposium provides a fantastic opportunity for final year organic chemistry PhD students to showcase their research and network with peers, leading academics, and industrial chemists.

The prize for best poster was awarded to Nicholas Parker from the University of Oxford for his research on visible light mediated cyclisation of enones using a lanthanide complex as photocatalyst. The two runners up prizes were awarded to Thomas Britten (Lancaster University) and Sam Chan (University of Oxford), for their work on the functionalisation of diazetidines and cyclobutenes via photocylisation and the capture of complex trialkyloxonium ions in natural product biosynthesis, respectively.
The industry prize was awarded to Maryne Dubois (Imperial College London), who presented a poster on the use of diaryloxetanes and azetidines as replacement for benzophenones in drugs. While the participant prize was awarded to Tom Stephens (University of York) for his work on the iterative assembly of macrocycles using ring expansion reactions.
The Organic Division would like to thank our generous industry sponsors including Astex Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, Charles Rivers, Concept Life Sciences, Evotec, MedChemica, Pharmaron, Sosei Heptares, Sygnature Discovery, Syngenta, Vertex and UCB.
And of course, we are very grateful to Roche, our headline sponsor of the event for the past 7 years.
