REACH Congress

8 November 2016 09:00 - 9 November 2016 17:00, Düsseldorf, Germany

Introduction
Day one will begin with a keynote presentation followed by a session on the current status of REACH. Confirmed speakers, all of who have direct experience of their respective subject include: Jodie Quirke (Legal Officer, DG Environment) on the Implementing Regulation, Ying Zhu (REACHLaw) on the SVHC Roadmap and Claudio Mereu (Fieldfisher) on BOA decisions. Further speakers will be announced soon.

In the afternoon, to keep the programme lively post-lunch, we have an expert panel to answer questions from participants and discuss current REACH challenges.

The day will close (before the drinks reception) with a more international flavour on how REACH has influenced non-EU regions and what this means for European industry. Confirmed speakers include Petra Weber (Clariant) on data sharing on a global scale and Dr. Michael Cleuvers (Dr. Knoell Consult GmbH) on developments in East Asia.

Day 2 starts with a range of industry case-studies for example metals and alloys from Hugo Waeterschoot (Eurometaux) followed by a session on those technical and highlights which are key to successfully navigating the REACH environment.

The purpose of the technical highlights is to inform a generalist audience such that understanding and decision-making is improved. These topics will include endocrine disruption (should you worry?, what should you do?), the role of QSARs (an easy way to addressing data requirements from Professor Mark Cronin, Liverpool John Moore University, and the role of epidemiology from Gerard Swaen (Maastricht University). We will also include a panel discussion on the one-generation reproduction data requirement hosted by experienced practising toxicologists (Steven Renault, Envigo and Ailsa Jackson, Covance) and a toxicology consultant (David Andrew, TSGE Consulting).

Further information on the latest programme outline can be found here. Other confirmed speakers and topic titles will be announced shortly.
