The 5th ChemComm International Symposium took place in Japan and China in May 2011. The purpose of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ journal symposia was to bring together scientists in a stimulating and friendly environment to foster collaborations between the researchers and the universities involved in the meetings.
The symposium featured three one-day meetings. Each one day meeting featured a selection of lectures covering organic chemistry and catalysis given by some of the world's leading international scientists. The first one-day meeting was held at Kyoto University, Japan. The symposium is organised by Chemical Communications, the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ and the local host organisations.
The symposium appealed to academic and industrial scientists with an interest in organic chemistry and catalysis. Attendance at the symposium was free of charge and student participation was strongly encouraged.
Speakers
Veronique Gouverneur - University of Oxford, UK
Ben Feringa - Groningen University, the Netherlands
Viresh Rawal - University of Chicago, USA
Atsuhiro Osuka - Kyoto University, Japan
Tsutomu Katsuki - Kyushu University, Japan
Zhenfeng Xi - Peking University, China
