Water, water everywhere - even on Mars!

16 April 2016 10:30-15:00, Leyland, United Kingdom

This event is by invitation only

Introduction
Workshop:
Eight years ago frozen water was found on Mars. Then in 2010, dark narrow streaks were seen on Mar’s surface. Recently Scientists at NASA have confirmed that these streaks are liquid water. But why is this discovery so exciting?

Water is essential for life. It is required by every organism on Earth and without it life would never have even begun. The unique and still not fully understood properties of water are what makes it so vital for life. If liquid water is present on Mars, this could mean that Martians are real.

Join Science Party-cles for an interactive and hands on investigation into the properties of water and it’s unique ability to help create life. This will involve unburstable balloons, hot ice and gravity defying tricks.

Event organisers:
Science Party-cles is a unique service bringing science to life. It was started in 2012 by two female scientists with a passion to engage, energise and educate the public about the mysterious and fascinating world of science. This is delivered through children’s birthday parties, after school clubs, community and corporate events. All events are interactive and use as many household products as possible to make science accessible.
